Repower

Trading accounts for around three quarters of Repower's electricity sales, and accounted for more than 14.5 terawatt hours in 2010. Gas sales through trading amounted to 110 million cubic meters in 2010. The group operates directly or indirectly on the most important European energy exchanges from its trading floors in Poschiavo, Milan and Prague. Alongside physical trading, the group is also involved in the increasingly important trading in held-for-trading positions.

Repower generates electricity at its own plants in Switzerland, Italy and Germany. With a broad portfolio of projects in the pipeline, the company intends to substantially increase its own generation in the next few years, with a balanced mix of different technologies.

Repower is the leading provider of electricity in southeastern Switzerland, supplying around 75,000 customers either directly or indirectly via resellers. The group’s subsidiary Repower Vendita Italia in Milan specialises in supplying electricity and gas to SMEs. In 2010 the company sold around 4 terawatt hours of electricity to 32,000 customers; 7,000 customers were supplied with a total of 125 million cubic meters of gas. In Germany, Repower Deutschland GmbH began supplying its own clientele of medium-sized business consumers in 2007. Today, Repower has 1,700 customers in this market. With its acquisition of Elcomex EN (today's Repower Furnizare România) in July 2010, Repower also entered the Romanian sales and supply business. Repower Furnizare România mainly supplies small and medium-sized enterprises consuming between 0.5 and 20 GWh of electricity a year.

Repower has been a pioneering force in the Swiss green power business. In 2000 the company launched its PUREPOWERgraubünden product, which is sold to customers in its core supply regions and marketed throughout Switzerland via certificates. In Germany, the Renewables Trading department offers the branded green power products purepowerALPINE and purepowerNORDIC, which are certified according to the ok-power criteria, and markets electricity generated from renewables to large-scale consumers and resellers.
