Repower

Repower subsidiary SEI S.p.A. plans to build a state-of-the-art coal-fired power plant on an unused industrial site in Saline Joniche (Calabria, Italy). The project also involves partners Hera S.p.A., Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A. and Apri Sviluppo S.p.A. The coal would be transported direct to the plant by ship. The installation is designed to be able to process locally produced biomass in addition to burning coal. The Italian ministry of the environment is currently reviewing the environmental compatibility of the project.
