Rätia Energie at a glance
Rätia Energie is an international electricity company based in Switzerland. It operates along the entire value chain, from trading, generation, transmission and distribution to sales. The group employs more than 600 people.
EnergyIn 2008 Rätia Energie sold more than 12 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity. Trading accounted for around two thirds of this, and supply and sales one third. Proprietary production came to around 2,5 TWh in 2008. The group has its own generation assets in Switzerland (hydropower) and Italy (combined-cycle gas power plant and wind power). |
Total operating revenueIn 2009 Rätia Energie posted total operating revenue of CHF 1.96 billion, down 1 per cent from the previous year. EBIT came to CHF 137 million, and group profits totalled CHF 111 million. Rätia Energie has very solid finances, with a balance sheet total of CHF 2.4 billion and equity of CHF 912 million. |
