Sales

Sales and distribution in four countries

Repower currently sells electricity to final consumers in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Romania.

Switzerland

In Switzerland Repower supplies around 75,000 customers – households and large-scale customers – either directly or indirectly via resellers. Its core supply region is south-eastern Switzerland/Graubünden. Repower's response to the liberalisation of the Swiss electricity market is on the one hand to prepare for growing competition, and on the other to expand its business beyond its traditional supply area where opportunities arise. Its branded green power product PUREPOWERgraubünden, launched as early as 2000, makes Repower one of the pioneers in the green power business.

Italy

In Italy Repower supplies around 32,000 small and medium-sized business customers with electricity and 7,000 customers with gas. In 2010, with the support of a team of 420 independent agents, Repower sold around 4 terawatt hours of electricity and 125 cubic meters of gas. Repower’s share of the Italian SME market is around 7 per cent.

Germany

In Germany, Repower began supplying its own clientele of medium-sized business consumers and public corporations in 2007, and continues to expand its portfolio. Today, Repower has 1,700 customers in this market.

Romania

With its acquisition of Elcomex EN, Repower entered the Romanian sales and supply business in July 2010. Repower Romania mainly supplies small and medium-sized enterprises consuming between 0.5 and 20 GWh of electricity a year. In the liberalised Romanian energy market, the company has a market share of more than 6 percent and sold around 1 TWh of electricity in 2009.
